Every year, the last week of October is dedicated to International Open Access Week, featuring events around the globe focused on a central theme. This year’s theme is: “Who owns our knowledge?” It invites reflection on the ownership of academic knowledge, access to research and education, and how knowledge is created and shared.
In line with this theme, the Open Access Belgium network — which brings together Belgian research libraries — is organizing a series of joint information sessions:
- Open Access in Horizon Europe
What are Horizon Europe’s requirements for open access publications, and how can researchers comply? What are the lessons learned?
Victoria Tsoukala (Policy Officer, Unit Open Science & Research Infrastructures, European Commission) will provide insights. - Copyright and AI: Retaining control over your publications
How can you maintain control over your work in an era dominated by artificial intelligence?
Mr. Joris Deene (Everest Law, legal advisor to the Copyright and Society Collaboration – SA&S) will explain how to manage your rights before, during, and after publication. - Diamond Open Access
What does a publishing model look like where neither readers nor authors pay fees?
Editors of Diamond OA journals will share their experiences and perspectives.
