How to and why considering the importance of economic evaluations when writing research proposals/protocols?
27 Maart 12:00 - 13:30
Economic evaluations are part of the reimbursement criteria for medicines and medical devices with an added value. But the importance of economic evaluations starts much earlier in the life cycle of a new intervention. Already when studies are being set up it is important to consider what data can/should be collected in order to provide input to a high-quality economic evaluation later on.
During this seminar, Mattias Neyt will provide a brief overview of why economic evaluations are important and which outcome measures are relevant and can/should be included in a research proposal/protocol. He will also provide information on which instruments the EUnetHTA (European Network for Health Technology Assessment) guidelines recommend for measuring quality of life if we wish to carry out an economic evaluation.
Guest speaker: Mattias Neyt (Senior health economist, pharmacoeconomist of Belgian Health Care Knowledge Centre KCE and owner of ME-TA)
