From January 1, 2023, a new policy on scholarly publishing will take effect at Ghent University. It replaces the existing publication policy and deposit mandate.
The new policy in a nutshell
The policy outlines the university’s vision for (the future of) scholarly publishing in a changing publishing landscape, and the shared responsibilities to help realise this vision.
It also contains specific guidelines for researchers, including on quality and integrity, registration and deposit of published research outputs, and open access.
Supported by a new Biblio back office
A new Biblio back office will also be launched on November 15, 2022 to help enable implementation of the new policy. This is the interface used for registering published research output and checking published records in Biblio, the academic bibliography and institutional repository of Ghent University.
A major change includes introducing the option to also add descriptions of your published datasets and link them to the associated publications(s).
